Dear Amy and Daniel,
I’m so excited for you guys and your future together! Amy, I’ll never forget our freshman year standing in line at McConn, holding our A&P flashcards for the medical terminology of anatomy, and talking about how hard this test was gonna be. If only we’d known…and there, standing in line we pinky promised that neither one of us would drop out of nursing our whole four years. Probably everyone who saw that was like, “oh, freshmen…” whatevs. But we made it mostly intact, and I’m so glad that not only did we stick with nursing, but we’re still friends!

Dear Amy and Daniel,
I feel compelled to leave my story here. I will never forget the day that Amy told me she was dating someone…nor will Amy…mostly because I’m pretty sure I left a bruise. Needless to say, it was an excited arm punch, not an angry one. And ever since, Julia and I had many morning McConn conversations before class about how Amy and Daniel were going to end up together…even though we had never really met Daniel…we could see the change in Amy. Even though she’d freak out when I told her she was in love with him and they were going to get married (granted they had only been dating a month or two =))
I think you two are a wonderful couple and I can’t wait for your big day =)

Oh boy, the things I could share of the antics of Daniel at college. Man, did we ever have some good times together!!! Daniel even helped me write a book on dating, which now testifies to how much work he has put into preparing for, meeting, courting and soon to be marrying Amy. I look forward to meeting her and celebrating that special day with you two. Perhaps August will not be 32 degrees, windy and snowing like the last time I visited Chicago and got a virus that sent me to the ER.

There are many precious memories from our friendship together that I will forever hold near and dear to my heart. Most of them involve laughing endlessly until we often forgot the reason why we were even laughing. However, there are a couple memories that have come to mind that I’ve decided to share. #1: That time when you and I had a foam soap war in your lodge kitchen when doing dishes, and you ended up whacking me in the face with the dish brush–yes, it did leave bristle marks–and yes, it did hurt. #2 That time when I wanted to show you the engagement ring that I bought for Bethany so I had to stealthily open the ring box in my backpack while you stuck your head in to look at it so that nobody else in McConn would see.
There are many more like the time you guys stole all of my shoes, and the time we watched Extreme Makeover:Home Edition while on the phone together. Oh–and that time that you and Ali pierced my ear. Your annual birthday calls also always warm my soul. Really, we’ve shared many great times together. Also, Bethany wanted me to say that she LOVED the color party, and we’re planning on having one with people here in West Virginia.
Daniel, the only times that you and I have shared together were seeing each other at my college graduation for a minute or two and then at my wedding. I know–we don’t have a lot of build on. However, from those times and from all Amy has told me about you, I know that you’re a great guy. I hope that we’ll have a chance to someday hang out more and get to know each other better because if Amy said “yes” then I know that you’re a ton of fun, and I really like fun people!
We hope that your new life together is blessed abundantly!! God has blessed you both with being fantastic individuals, and by bringing you two together, he’s pretty much created a power team. Keep loving life and loving those around you.
We’re EXTREMELY sad that we can’t make it to the wedding, but we’ll be thinking of you.
Blessings–
The Hamptons

Amy I remember when our friendship first started when you were Doug and my teen helper in AWANA. I think it really was the day when someone asked who was in charge and you said “she’s the big cheez” and pointed to me. Every since that day I have been big cheez and you have been lil cheez. Many tried to get into the cheez club but we are exclusive. I truly cherish your friendship.
Daniel we’ve gotten to know each other through our trips to Denver our beloved state and other youth group stuff. I’ve watched your relationship with Amy grow, (even before you thought I knew). You two are amazing and I am so happy for you and for the upcoming wedding in 48.5 hours from now. Hopefully I did the math right it’s 12:30 Thursday.
I know that you two will be a very happy loving couple.
I watched the video of your engagement again. It makes me cry every time I’m such a sap right?
May God truly bless your marriage and I know you will have many happy years together.
